About Joy
Joy is an AI specialist for leading enterprises and investors.
Previously, Joy was a Co-Founder and CTO of Plenful, an AI startup leveraging modern NLP and ML to automate manual administrative work in healthcare, such as document processing, claims management, and more. He architected Plenful's ML infrastructure (e.g., NLP / LLM models, cloud infrastructure), developed their AI no-code workflow automation platform driving product market fit, built out the engineering team, and scaled the company from zero to millions in revenue and fundraising (via Bessemer Venture Partners).
Before Plenful, Joy:
Trained and deployed deep learning NLP models for international question answering (3X coverage increase) as a Google Search Software Engineer.
Built out Impira's (acquired by Figma) search infrastructure and product (5x usage growth) over enterprise files as an (top 7) early Senior Software Engineer.
Developed FarmShots' (acquired by Syngenta, YC Fellowship) ML platform to optimize agricultural yield via satellite imagery CV as a Founding Engineer.
Academically, Joy graduated from Duke University (Mathematics, Computer Science) and specialized in AI. There, he also researched and presented CV techniques for medical imaging.
